The wind was up and down coming off the shore and we were able to complete two full round robins, finishing 5th place out of 8 teams. Overall, our victories were solid and most of our losses were competitive until the very end. Unfortunately, Isaac didn’t let me heavy crew for Nick, but Isaac still has 7 weeks left to make my dreams come true. Greta and I worked hard on our boat handling between races and were able to benefit from engaging in several tacking duels.
This past weekend we competed in the Admiral Moore Team Race at SUNY Maritime.
The improvement over the past two weekends’ regattas alone has been phenomenal. Our understanding of team race strategy and improvement in light FJ boat handling has gotten us back into races that we would have lost a week ago. The increased practice hours and workouts are showing in the results, and I’m excited to see how the rest of my Senior Spring plays out.
